PharmaGuide
Terms of Service
Effective 5 October 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service are a contract between you and CAREPOINT HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY LIMITED (“CarePoint”, “we”), Nkwen, Bamenda, Cameroon. PharmaGuide is a CarePoint product. It includes the public website, the Android app, and the pharmacy portal.
By creating an account, uploading a prescription, scanning a pharmacy code, or continuing to use PharmaGuide, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use PharmaGuide.
2. What PharmaGuide does
PharmaGuide helps people search for a medicine and see pharmacies that list it, and helps a pharmacy update its own stock, prices, batches, and hours.
Stock, prices, opening hours, phone numbers, and addresses are supplied by pharmacies. They can change at any time. A result on the screen is not a promise that the medicine is still in stock, or that the price is still the same, when you reach the pharmacy.
Call and maps buttons open your phone or a maps application. Those services are not operated by CarePoint.
3. Not medical care
PharmaGuide is not a pharmacy, clinic, hospital, or doctor. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice. A health tip in the app is general information, not a personal recommendation.
For a medical decision, speak to a licensed professional. If you are collecting a medicine, follow the pharmacy’s instructions and bring the original prescription when the pharmacy or the law requires it.
4. Who may use it
You may use PharmaGuide only if you have the legal capacity to enter this contract under the laws of Cameroon. If you do not, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms and use the service for you.
Do not create a pharmacy account unless you are allowed to act for that pharmacy. A pharmacy listing must be for a real pharmacy, and the person registering it must be authorised to do so.
5. Searching as a patient
You can search without an account. Location is optional. If you refuse it, you can still search by city or by pharmacy name.
Saved medicines and saved pharmacies stay on your phone. Removing them, or uninstalling the app, removes that copy. CarePoint does not use that on-device list as a customer profile.
6. Pharmacy accounts
The pharmacy is responsible for its login, its staff, and the truth of its listing: name, address, phone, hours, stock, prices, batches, and expiry dates.
A quick-access code lets the person who has it update that pharmacy’s stock. Treat the code like a key. If it is lost or shared with someone who should not have it, tell us immediately so we can cut it off.
CarePoint may refuse, hide, or remove a listing that is duplicated, false, misleading, or unused. We may do this without notice when the listing creates a risk for patients.
7. Prescription uploads
If you upload a prescription, you confirm that you are the patient, or the patient’s parent or legal guardian, and that you have the right to share that image and the name and phone number you enter.
We send that upload only to the pharmacy you select, and to CarePoint staff who need it to operate the service. You choose the pharmacy. We do not send it to other pharmacies, and we do not use the image for advertising.
A photo is not a dispensing order. The pharmacy decides whether it can supply the medicine and may still ask for the original paper prescription.
8. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Post false stock, prices, hours, or pharmacy details.
- Upload a prescription you are not allowed to share.
- Try to access another pharmacy’s stock, codes, or patient uploads.
- Probe, scrape, or overload the service, or bypass a security control.
- Use PharmaGuide in a way that breaks the law of Cameroon, including rules on medicines and pharmacy practice.
9. Software and content
CarePoint owns the PharmaGuide software, design, and brand. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the app and website for their intended purpose. You do not receive any ownership of the software.
A pharmacy keeps ownership of the facts it submits about itself. It gives CarePoint a licence to host, display, and back up that listing for as long as the listing is on PharmaGuide, and afterwards for the retention period in the Privacy Policy.
You keep ownership of a prescription image. You give CarePoint and the selected pharmacy a licence to store it and use it only to respond to that request.
10. Stopping use
You may stop using PharmaGuide at any time. You may ask us to close a pharmacy account or delete a prescription request by emailing us. Closing an account does not erase a listing or an upload that we must keep to meet a legal duty.
We may suspend access if you break these Terms, if a listing is unreliable, or if we must do so to protect patients or the service. Where we can do so safely, we will tell you the reason and how to respond.
11. Other services
Maps, phone calls, and your app store are run by other companies under their own terms. CarePoint is not responsible for those services, or for a handset setting that blocks location, camera, or photos.
12. Availability
PharmaGuide is provided as it is available. We work to keep it running, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every pharmacy listing is complete or current.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a right that the law of Cameroon does not allow us to exclude.
13. Liability
To the extent Cameroon law allows, CarePoint is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including a wasted journey, a pharmacy being closed, a medicine being out of stock, or a price having changed.
We do not exclude liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that Cameroon law does not allow us to exclude.
14. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon.
The courts of Bamenda have jurisdiction, without taking away a right you have, as a consumer, to bring a claim in another Cameroonian court when the law gives you that right. Please write to us first so we can try to resolve the problem.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. If a change is material, we will post the new version here before it applies. Continuing to use PharmaGuide after that date means you accept the new Terms.
